I don’t come on here and write anything personal much anymore, but felt this needs to be more talked about on here.
There’s something that needs to be said about a specific side of the Tumblr lesbian community - I don’t understand the infatuation with wanting to be and look like the same type of lesbian and being part of this particular group…. What I mean is, there is almost a clique like atmosphere that has festered here for a long time. Some of you may know them as the straight hair, snap back, tries to act cooler then everyone else sort of attitude. I’ve met some of these people in real life, and I’ve seen these people act like they are the “celebrities of tumblr” and everyone wants to date them…. It’s become such a toxic culture. It’s boxing people into categories and making it seem like in order to be a real lesbian you have to fit into this mold that is portrayed. I’ve met a number of awesome people on here that I consider friends, but I’ve also encountered people that have that “why are you talking to me” vibe and that they are better then everyone else. No, sorry, your shorts you spent $150 on don’t make you more attractive and you aren’t gods gift to this lesbian world. Hate to break it to ya 👋 but time to normalize that this fake lesbian culture here doesn’t have a spot in our LGBTQA+ world anymore. If you know, you know!
